Rebuilt Grotrian Strinweg

1919 Grotrian Steinweg:    This piano has been rebuilt and French polished in my workshop it is a fine example of a German piano. Nearly everything has been done to this piano - including re-centring, new strings and tuning pins, new hammers and shanks, new dampers, and all new springs, polished, tuned and regulated. I love this piano.  It is fantastic to have around but deserves a lovely home.   This is a fine piano, the name Grotrian Steinweg does not mean Steinway and Sons but the company was originally founded by the Steinway family back in1835 when The Steinway name retained its Original German form Steinweg,  The Company was founded by Henrich Engelhard Steinweg.  The company joined with George Friedrich Karl Grotrian about 1854.  Nowadays the company are simply called Grotrian.   Henrich Engelhard Steinweg went on to America with 5 of his 7 children, (Theodor Steinweg stayed in Germany with the Steinweg company) and they Americanized their names to Steinway and went on to start the Steinway and Sons in 1853.   This piano is worth around the 10 thousand mark so any transport is at a further cost.  I can deliver this piano anywhere in New Zealand.   My Name is Adrian Mann Builder of the World’s Longest Piano (that’s me in the main photo - I’m not included)
